Warner Bros. has revealed that “Practical Magic 2” draws its story from Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel.The Book of Magic The film follows the Owens family as they face the return of an old curse that threatens the life and legacy they have worked to build.
The film is directed by Susanne Bier. Original “Practical Magic” writer Akiva Goldsman is back to pen the screenplay alongside Georgia Pritchett and Kelly Marcel.
Bullock and Kidman are also producing the sequel with Denise Di Novi, who produced the 1998 film. Alice Hoffman serves as an executive producer, joined by Andrew A. Kosove, Broderick Johnson, and Donald Sabourin. Behind the scenes, Simon Duggan handles cinematography, Tom Burton oversees production design, and Rupert Gregson-Williams returns to compose the film’s score.
“Practical Magic 2” is set to arrive in North American theaters on September 11, 2026, with audiences in several international markets expected to see it a few days earlier. After its theatrical release, the film is expected to make its streaming debut on HBO Max.
