Dubai Launches World’s First AI Chef

Published

on

Let’s be honest—when most of us think of a chef, we picture a white coat, a flaming pan, maybe a few sharp knives, and someone shouting orders in a bustling kitchen.

But Dubai, in classic Dubai fashion, is rewriting the rulebook. Not with a celebrity chef this time—but with a machine.

Meet Chef Aiman, the world’s first AI-powered chef. No apron. Just pure data, precision, and an appetite for creativity.

And he’s not coming to the lab or test kitchen. He’s setting up shop in the heart of Downtown Dubai—inside a high-end restaurant called WOOHOO, opening summer 2025 at Kempinski The Boulevard.

Who (or What) is Chef Aiman?

Chef Aiman isn’t your typical kitchen robot. He doesn’t flip burgers or physically cook meals.

He’s a digital mind—built by UAE-based startup UMAI—that works with human chefs to craft exceptional dining experiences.

He thinks like a chef, but faster. He doesn’t guess. He analyzes.

And instead of learning from just a few mentors, he pulls from a global network of recipes, reviews, ingredients, trends, and even your taste preferences.

Aiman:

Designs entire menus based on seasonality, guest mood, and even weather.

Suggests flavor combinations you’ve never imagined—but somehow, they work.

Tracks inventory and makes real-time adjustments to dishes based on availability and feedback.

Learns from every plate served—getting smarter and more intuitive over time.

He’s not replacing humans. He’s elevating them. And he’s not just cooking meals—he’s rethinking how food is created

So Where Can You Try This AI-Chef Magic?

That would be WOOHOO, the upcoming Japanese fusion fine dining restaurant that’s already establishing a strong reputation even before opening

“The cuisine? It’s an unexpected mix of Japanese, Mexican, and Peruvian—bold, flavorful, and the kind of combination that actually makes you curious with every bite.”

But with Chef Aiman involved, you can expect plates that balance culture, technique, and innovation with surprising ease.

He’s also collaborating with Chef Reif Othman—the culinary legend behind Zuma and REIF Japanese Kushiyaki—to make sure the human touch isn’t lost.

Reif brings the heart. Aiman brings the head. Together, they’re aiming for a new gold standard in dining.

Why This Matters

Let’s zoom out for a second.

This isn’t just about one fancy restaurant. It’s a clear sign that Dubai is leading the global AI revolution,

By blending hospitality with advanced technology, Dubai is asking big questions—and answering them with even bigger ideas.

What if your favorite dish could be predicted before you even walked in?

What if your dietary needs were met with flawless accuracy—every single time?

What if food waste was nearly eliminated because the kitchen runs with machine efficiency?

This is what Aiman represents: a smarter, cleaner, more personalized future of dining.

But… Would You Let a Machine Cook for You?

It’s a fair question.

Some critics say AI can’t “feel” the way a human does. That it lacks instinct, intuition, or soul. And they’re right—up to a point.

But that’s why Aiman isn’t alone. He’s part of a team. A tool. A brilliant assistant that never sleeps, forgets, or improvises recklessly. And that’s powerful.

With ethical safeguards, real-time learning, and creative input from expert chefs, Aiman doesn’t take over the kitchen. He turns it into a lab of flavor—and you’re the lucky test subject.

Conclusion

Chef Aiman isn’t about replacing chefs. He’s about expanding what chefs—and restaurants—can do. Faster service. Smarter pairings. Lower waste. And meals tailored not just to your order, but to you.

Whether you’re a tech geek, a foodie, or someone just looking for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, WOOHOO might be your next must-visit spot.

In a city known for firsts, this one really sets the table for the future.

The World’s Leading Culinary Icons Come Together in Marbella

Puente Romano resort has long held its ground as one of Europe’s most celebrated gastronomic addresses. With more than twenty restaurants and bars spread across its whitewashed Andalusian village-style grounds, the Marbella property draws discerning travelers as much for its food as for its sunshine, and this week it fully delivered on that reputation.

Photo: Instagram

Nearly 300 guests gathered at La Plaza for the second edition of Culinary Icons, the resort’s annual food event, enjoying an afternoon of live cooking, tastings, and stories from the chefs behind the dishes. The event was opened by resort owner Daniel Shamoon, who has long-standing ties with several of the chefs present. He brought Nobu Matsuhisa to Spain in 2017 to open the country’s first Nobu restaurant, followed by the hotel in 2018. A young Dani García also once worked in the resort’s kitchens under his supervision.

Five celebrated chefs took to the stage, Nobu Matsuhisa, Izu Ani, Dani García, Yiannis Kioroglou and Albert Adrià. Four of them are already part of the resort’s culinary offering through their permanent restaurants. The fifth, Albert Adrià, brought the afternoon to a fitting close with dessert.

Each chef presented a dish that reflected years of experience and a distinct culinary perspective. Nobu Matsuhisa served tuna tataki tosazu and seabass kombujime oshi sushi. The tuna was lightly seared, the seabass delicate, each bite subtle but distinct. Izu Ani who built his culinary reputation in Dubai and runs several restaurants in Dubai, including GAIA, followed with a Salt Crusted King Crab, a dish that made its presence felt immediately. Dani García presented his signature Nitro Tomato with green gazpacho and Motril shrimps, a plate closely associated with his approach to contemporary Spanish cuisine and one that traces its origins to the resort more than 20 years ago. Representing the French Riviera, Yiannis Kioroglou served Rigatoni aux Truffes alongside a Caviar Pissaladière. Adrià rounded off the evening with two distinctive desserts: the Cork Stopper, a dessert resembling a wine cork, made with meticulous care, paired with a chocolate-and-yuzu waffle that mixes dark chocolate and zesty yuzu.

Drinks throughout the afternoon were led by SIPS Barcelona, currently on a three-month summer residency at Bar La Plaza, a fitting pairing, given its status as World’s Best Bar. Proceeds from the event went to the Spanish Red Cross in support of its humanitarian work.
