A construction worker died after a tragic accident on Sunday, April 26, while he was helping set up the stage for Shakira’s big concert in Brazil. Organizers confirmed the news following an incident that took place at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, where workers were setting up for “Todo Mundo no Rio,” a large outdoor concert that typically attracts huge crowds along the waterfront. The worker was operating a lifting system when a malfunction occurred, and he suffered severe crushing injuries to his legs. His coworkers were able to free him before ambulance crews from the 3rd Maritime Group arrived and quickly transported him to Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital, but the doctors couldn’t save him.

Event organizers posted a statement on Instagram, saying they lost “a professional who was working on assembling the structures for the show”. They explained that first responders gave immediate care before the fire department assisted with the transfer to the hospital. They added they are committed to fully supporting the victim’s family, the company he worked for, and the rest of the team. The state fire brigade also confirmed the incident, stating that coworkers had freed him from the machinery before emergency teams arrived.

The concert is part of Shakira’s larger Brazil tour. Earlier this month, her shows in India set for Mumbai on April 10 and New Delhi on April 15, were postponed, with organizers blaming the regional geopolitical situation. Following Sunday’s accident, there has been no official confirmation on whether the Brazil concert will proceed.

Zoe Kravitz and Harry Styles are Engaged After 8 Months of Dating

Published

on

Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz are engaged. People report states that the couple has shared the news privately with a small circle of friends, with Kravitz also spotted displaying her ring.

The story unfolded over a few days. On April 19, Kravitz appeared with a ring on her left hand during an outing with Styles. By April 21, photographs published by “The Sun” showed the ring still visible as she shared a kiss with Styles in London.

Their relationship began in August 2025, when they were photographed walking arm in arm in Rome. Around the same time, they were reportedly observed kissing at Rita’s in London the week prior, according to DeuxMoi. It was also reported by people that Styles was spending time with Kravitz during her press run for “Caught Stealing.” From that point, the couple were spotted together on several occasions in London and New York, keeping a low profile and largely staying out of the public eye.

By December 2025, the relationship was described as going strong. Styles was spending extended periods in Rome, with Kravitz joining him regularly since late summer. “They just stroll around, meet up with friends and live a very relaxed life,” a source told People. “They have great chemistry.”

By February 2026, Kravitz was expected to join Styles on his global residency tour, scheduled to begin in May in support of his fourth studio album, “Disco, Occasionally.”

The development comes alongside growing attention on Kravitz’s personal life, as this marks her third engagement. She was previously married to actor Karl Glusman from 2019 to 2020, and later engaged to Channing Tatum in late 2023, before the relationship ended the following year. For Styles, this is his first engagement.

Neither has issued a public statement, but given how the past eight months have unfolded, the ring itself appears to serve as confirmation enough.

Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi were seen making out at Justin Bieber’s Coachella after-party, an account that has not been disputed. A People source later revealed that the pair had already been spending time together before the story became public. “They’ve been hanging out and getting to know each other the last couple months,” the source said.

They’ve known each other for years. Elordi was at Jenner’s birthday in 2022. Earlier this year, the two were spotted talking at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Kendall Jenner has never been someone who announces her relationships. She told Vogue Australia in 2019: “I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier.” She dated Bad Bunny for most of 2023 before they split in December. Before him, it was Devin Booker for two years. Harry Styles and A$AP Rocky have also been linked to her.

In a past interview with Kourtney Kardashian’s platform Poosh, Jenner described herself as someone who knows immediately. During a conversation on Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh platform, she described herself as someone who believes in love at first sight, saying she often knows immediately when she connects with someone.

Elordi, however, is more private, with no social media presence and a history of keeping his personal life out of view. He was previously linked to Olivia Jade, Kaia Gerber, Zendaya and Joey King. Neither has said a word publicly. Reps for both did not respond to comment requests. At present, reporting is based on limited accounts, with details still being interpreted by those who witnessed the moment.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato Reunited on Opening Night of Her ‘It’s Not That Deep’ Tour

Demi Lovato kicked off her ‘It’s Not That Deep’ tour in Orlando on Monday, and the opening night delivered considerably more than anyone expected. Selena Gomez was in attendance, watching from box seats in the audience. She later shared photos from the night and wrote that she was in tears, describing it as one of the best shows she had ever seen. The two were photographed embracing backstage, marking their first known photo together in nearly a decade.

Their friendship runs deeper than Disney. They starred together in the 2009 film “Princess Protection Program” before gradually drifting apart around 2010. Speaking on the ‘Baby, This is Keke Palmer’ podcast in March, Lovato credited that pre-Disney friendship as a source of safety when she first entered that world. “I felt this safety when I came into the Disney Channel, having a built-in friendship there already,” she said.

The nostalgia did not stop there. Backstage, Lovato posted a TikTok using audio from a Keeping Up with the Kardashians promo, mouthing the words “OK guys, we’re back. Did you miss us? ‘Cause we missed you.” Joe Jonas, who also appeared during the night for a surprise stage performance of “This Is Me” from “Camp Rock” and “On the Line,” joined in the nostalgic moment, with both leaning fully into what the evening represented.

Monday’s opening night also lands in the middle of a broader wave of Disney Channel nostalgia. Miley Cyrus returned to her “Hannah Montana” roots last month for the show’s 20th anniversary special and had her own reunion with Gomez, who had a recurring role on the series. For a generation that grew up on that era, 2026 has already delivered more than expected.
