Dubai Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2027 edition opened on Thursday, October 22, with four designers presenting collections that explored pearls, nature-inspired patterns, crystal embellishments and structured tailoring. The opening night brought different approaches to the runway.
Organised by Dubai Design District (d3) in partnership with the Arab Fashion Council, the event runs until October 26, with established regional designers and emerging labels featured across the programme. Here are the key moments from the opening night.

Yousef Aljasmi opened the evening with a collection centred on pearls. Strands of the embellishment fell in soft drapes across structured silhouettes.
The collection gave pearls a more prominent role than a conventional finishing touch, allowing them to shape the look of each piece. The result was a polished presentation that reflected Aljasmi’s couture-focused approach.

Pallavi Puri brought equestrian influences to the runway, pairing them with teardrop-shaped crystals that caught the light as the models moved. The combination gave the collection a polished finish.

Krésha Bajaj brought the evening to a close with a collaboration featuring jewellery by Alok Lodha Jewels. Animal-print patterns, tailored blazers and suits gave the collection a stronger, more assertive direction.
Statement jewellery completed the looks, complementing the animal prints and structured tailoring. The combination of blazers, suits and patterns offered a fresh take on power dressing, with pieces that could work for both professional settings and more expressive occasions.
More runway presentations are scheduled before the event concludes on October 26. Alongside the shows, the dedicated Buyers Programme connects designers with buyers and other fashion industry professionals through personalised meetings and consultations.
As the week continues, the remaining collections will add to the picture of the ideas and design directions shaping Dubai Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2027 edition.
