Dubai Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2027 edition brought together designers from different parts of the world, each approaching the season through a distinct set of ideas. Some turned to nature and symbolism, while others explored cultural identity, colour and the construction of eveningwear.

Held at Dubai Design District (d3) from October 22 to 26, the event brought together established labels and emerging talent. Among the collections presented, six stood out for the ways they translated their inspirations into clothing.

L’SCARLETT Brings Floral Motifs to Sculptural Eveningwear

Vietnamese designer Le Nguyen presented AUREA for L’SCARLETT, exploring femininity through defined silhouettes, fluid skirts and architectural volumes, Gold-toned crystals and intricate hand embellishment featured throughout the collection, alongside three-dimensional floral details inspired by the lily.

The flowers gave the collection a recurring visual element, particularly alongside its sculptural shapes and gold accents.

GNL Couture Takes Inspiration From an Enchanted Garden

Azerbaijani label GNL Couture looked to an enchanted garden for Le Jardin Enchanté, its Spring/Summer 2027 collection.

Among the standout looks was an ivory strapless gown embroidered with pastel vines and paired with a cape. An ice-blue halter dress featured a sheer corset waist decorated with mint flowers, while another strapless design was finished with a tiered fringe skirt. Each look interpreted the garden theme through a combination of colour, texture and embellishment.

The collection also featured bridalwear, with romantic gowns adding a softer touch to the collection.

KEL’ Uses the Butterfly as a Symbol of Change

Ukrainian label KEL’ built its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Genesis, around the butterfly, using the symbol to explore transformation and self-expression. Designer Olena Kondratova paired corsetry with architectural tailoring, lace, sheer tulle and velvet.

The butterfly appeared in three-dimensional, hand-stitched appliqués, while hand-embroidered crystals, sculptural hair accessories and body jewellery added detail to the presentation.

Nafsika Skourti Mixes Colour With Unexpected Textures

Jordan-based label Nafsika Skourti, founded by sisters Nafsika and Stephanie Skourti, returned to the runway after a nine-year hiatus with its Resort 2027 collection, Sisters by Choice. The collection explored sisterhood and individuality through colour combinations, metallic accents and playful textures.

Woven bandeau tops with long, floor-skimming cord fringe appeared with black trousers, introducing movement to otherwise simple silhouettes. Other looks combined floral details with metallic finishes, setting decorative elements against more restrained pieces.

The collection moved beyond familiar resortwear separates by using fringe, texture and colour to change the character of its shapes. Its approach felt expressive without relying on elaborate embellishment in every look.

Laura Aparicio Draws on Colombian Identity

Colombian designer Laura Aparicio presented NANDA, a Spring/Summer 2027 collection rooted in Colombian identity, confidence and self-expression. Oversized silhouettes, sculptural forms and fluid fabrics appeared in saturated shades of yellow, red and blue.

Colour played a central role in the collection, while the contrast between volume and fluidity shaped the garments. Aparicio drew on cultural identity without relying solely on traditional motifs, translating her references into contemporary womenswear through proportion, movement and strong colour choices.

The collection offered a different perspective from the more embellishment-led presentations at the event, showing how silhouette and colour could carry a design concept.

Mónica Schuster Explores Celestial References

Photo: Dubai Fashion week

Colombian couture label Mónica Schuster by Sermetex presented ECLIPSE, a collection of eveningwear centred on celestial imagery, transformation and feminine strength.

Sculptural capes, defined silhouettes, crystal embroidery and gold details featured throughout the designs. Looks titled Golden Aura and Golden Eclipse carried the celestial theme through their embellishment and carefully shaped forms.

The presentation took a more theatrical approach to eveningwear, using capes and defined silhouettes to create visual impact. The gold accents and crystal work reinforced the collection’s central references without moving away from its focus on couture construction.

Six Collections, Six Different Perspectives

The six collections offered different ways of translating an idea into clothing. KEL’ used the butterfly to explore transformation, L’SCARLETT developed its floral references through sculptural eveningwear, and GNL Couture brought an enchanted garden to life through embroidery and colour. Nafsika Skourti approached resortwear through texture and movement, while Laura Aparicio drew on Colombian identity and Mónica Schuster by Sermetex explored celestial references through couture.

Kendall Jenner Closes Out Bottega Veneta Show

Published

Kendall Jenner was the final model on the runway at Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Milan on September 26, wearing an all-black look. Sitting in the front row was actor Jacob Elordi, the Bottega Veneta ambassador and Jenner’s boyfriend, who watched as she made her way down the runway.

Jenner wore a floor-length black gown with an asymmetrical, draped construction. The dress gathered at the bodice and hips, with a long panel falling down one side and a pronounced shoulder adding volume to the look. She paired the dress with black open-toe heels and wore her hair straight and centre-parted.

Her appearance marked a return to the Bottega Veneta runway. Jenner first walked for the Italian house in 2016, making her latest appearance there a decade after her first show for the brand.

The runway moment also came at the end of Louise Trotter’s latest collection for Bottega Veneta. For Spring/Summer 2027, Trotter looked at the transition between seasons, exploring the point between heavier winter dressing and the lighter clothes associated with spring and summer.

That idea played out through the clothes and materials. The collection opened with outerwear featuring padded shoulders and knotted hems, followed by looks in lilac, butter yellow, red and floral prints. Later, handmade lace, openwork crochet and large-scale intrecciato brought lighter textures into the collection, while leather remained an important part of the lineup.

Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato weave also appeared in different forms, including leather scarves wrapped around the waist, woven boots and large bags. Trotter also expanded the use of raffia and leather for oversized tote shapes, adding a softer, more summery feel to the house’s familiar craftsmanship.

The show attracted a notable front row, with Elordi seated alongside Solange and Tyler, the Creator. Julianne Moore was also among the guests in attendance. Elordi has represented Bottega Veneta as a brand ambassador since 2024.

Elordi’s attention was particularly noticeable when Jenner appeared on the runway. Footage from the show showed the actor using a film camera to photograph her as she walked past. His interest in photography is well documented, and he has been seen with a collection of vintage film cameras and regularly photographs friends and behind-the-scenes moments.

Jenner and Elordi were first linked in April 2026 after being seen together around Coachella. The pair have since been spotted together in Hawaii, Los Angeles, Australia and London. The pair had been getting to know each other privately before their relationship became public.

This time, however, the two found themselves at the centre of attention from opposite sides of the Bottega Veneta runway, with Jenner closing the show and Elordi watching from the front row.

Donatella Versace Launches New Brand With Revolve Group

Published

on

Donatella Versace is returning to the creative side of fashion with a new venture spanning fashion and beauty, developed in partnership with Los Angeles-based Revolve Group. The independent business will be built around Versace’s personal creative vision and is intended to connect with a younger generation through style, culture, entertainment and digital commerce.

The announcement comes more than a year after Versace stepped down as chief creative officer of the Versace fashion house in March 2025, a position she had held since the death of her brother, Gianni Versace, in 1997. She subsequently became the brand’s chief brand ambassador.

Versace’s departure from creative role came during a broader repositioning of the fashion house under Capri Holdings.

Prada Group completed its acquisition of Versace in December 2025, bringing the fashion house under new ownership after a period of creative change. Dario Vitale had taken over from Versace as creative director, but left the role after one season, with Pieter Mulier later appointed as his successor.

Her latest project gives Versace a separate platform to develop her own creative direction across fashion and beauty. The new venture will also benefit from Revolve’s established digital platform and reach across international markets.

Founded by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas in 2003, Revolve Group has grown into a major online fashion and lifestyle retailer, with its Revolve platform focused on established brands and Fwrd dedicated to emerging labels. The company reported $1.23 billion in revenue in 2025.

Revolve has moved into beauty and other areas through partnerships with figures including Cardi B and Sofia Richie Grainge.

For the new venture, Revolve says its technology, infrastructure and global reach will support Versace’s creative direction. The project is intended to operate independently rather than as an extension of the existing Versace fashion house.

At 71, Versace remains a highly recognisable figure in fashion and popular culture. With more than 12 million followers on Instagram, Versace remains a familiar face to younger fashion audiences, who continue to engage with her signature style and extensive archive.

Her influence has also extended into contemporary celebrity fashion. Zendaya recently wore a 2016 Atelier Versace design during the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour, while Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Lopez have both revisited archival Versace looks for major public appearances.

Lopez’s connection to the house goes even further back, the green Versace dress she wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards became one of the most recognisable red-carpet looks in fashion history and is widely associated with the development of Google Image Search.

The new brand will initially target markets across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Its name has not yet been revealed.

The first products are expected to arrive in 2027, with the project set to extend beyond traditional fashion collections into entertainment and other areas of culture.

For Versace, the partnership marks a new chapter in her career, bringing together her longstanding creative identity with Revolve’s digital capabilities and international platform.

Kim Kardashian Unveils the Vision Behind Skims’ New London Flagship

Published

g Kim Kardashian has opened the first standalone Skims store in the UK, giving the brand’s signature aesthetic a physical presence in London.

The 12,000-square-foot flagship on London’s Regent Street was designed with New York architect Rafael de Cárdenas, drawing heavily from Kardashian’s own minimalist interiors. The design continues that aesthetic with soft curves replacing sharp edges, while neutral tones, sculptural forms and seamless surfaces give the store a warm, residential feel.

That connection to her home is deliberate. When Skims launched in 2019, fittings happened in Kardashian’s closet and campaigns were shot in her home. She wanted the store to carry that same sense of intimacy.

“People seemed to like this clean, monochromatic aesthetic,” she told Wallpaper. “I wanted as much of the materiality from my home in the store, so it would still feel like it was part of that.”

Kardashian and de Cárdenas added warmth into the space through rounded forms, tactile materials and a subtle signature scent. At the center is a monumental female sculpture by artist Vanessa Beecroft.

“I want people to feel this is their safe space,” Kardashian said. The store is designed for customers to try on underwear, bras, and shapewear in an environment built around comfort and confidence.

The ground floor houses apparel and seasonal collections. Upstairs holds shapewear, alongside dedicated areas for menswear and NikeSkims. What started as a shapewear label has grown into a global brand offering intimates, apparel, activewear, menswear and NikeSkims.

In November 2025, Skims raised $225 million at a $5 billion valuation, with the company expecting to exceed $1 billion in net sales for 2025.

The London opening is another step in the brand’s expansion. On Regent Street, Skims is offering customers a full brand experience. It brings Kardashian’s vision for Skims into a physical setting, with a clean, body-focused design that is meant to feel comfortable and inviting.

For a brand that started in a closet, a 12,000-square-foot flagship on one of London’s most prominent shopping streets shows just how far Skims has come. The store brings the familiarity of Kardashian’s original vision into a much larger setting without losing the sense of comfort at the heart of the brand.
